現年 37 歲的洛杉磯全能唱作人 Thundercat 起初從金屬樂團發跡，期間橫跨樂團、電子樂並唱起嘻哈 R&B，也以樂手身分參與 Kendrick Lamar、Flying Lotus 與 Mac Miller 等多張專輯錄製，身兼 Flying Lotus 的多年 Homie 與其廠牌 Brainfeeder 旗下要角，還恰如其名的是一位職業級喵奴。講了這麼多，在在顯示具有豐富資歷與深度，且符合大眾口味的 Thundercat 在 2020 年以《It Is What It Is》奪下最佳前衛 R&B 專輯一點都不讓人意外。
實至名歸的他近期也很活躍，不久前才與知名虛擬樂團 Gorillaz 合作破千萬點擊的〈Cracker Island〉一曲，也在坂本龍一誕辰 70 週年紀念專輯《A Tribute to Ryuichi Sakamoto - To the Moon and Back》中致敬 1978 年的坂本出道經典 Thousand Knives 並已率先上架串流。
